Ruin, Mr. Mehta, Electric Love Muffin +1 other band, Grendel's Lair, South Street Philadelphia. Sept 20, 1986 (had the flyer on my wall, that's why I remember so much)

First concert was Joan Jett & Blackhearts with The Ramones opening, 1984. That would've been her “Glorious Results of a Misspent Youth” tour. Not a punk show, but a good one to start off with!

Well I had been to shows before this one, but my first real DIY show was in like 1988 in Syracuse New York. It was supposed to be Soulside, Swiz, and Hunger Artist. Swiz cancelled and local heros Milton's Disciples played instead.

There was a local club called the Lost Horizon that put on shows but we got tired of that dynamic. Some people organized DIY shows but not consistently. We started a group called P.O.S.E.U.R., punks of Syracuse engaged to unite and react and along with the zine Punks Sucks and So Do You, started a long history of putting on shows there, well in advance of Syracuse Straight Edge and Earth Crisis.
